2016(首届)中国隐私保护学术会议特邀报告之一

  信息技术与经济社会的交汇融合引发了数据迅猛增长,数据已成为国家基础性战略资源。2015831日,国务院印发《促进大数据展行动纲要》,提出要大力推动数据跨部门、领域共享,稳步推动公数据资源开放。然而,在开放数据的同时,如何保护数据隐私与安全是目前业界面临的最大挑战。为推进我国隐私保护研究和工作开展,20151128日,中国保密协会隐私保护专业委员会在北京成立。为促进我国隐私保护技术的研究与应用达到国际领先水平,加快建成数据安全强国,由中国保密协会隐私保护专业委员会主办,中国人民大学承办的“2016(首届)中国隐私保护学术会议”,将于2016117日在中国人民大学隆重召开。  

  本次大会将围绕数据隐私保护与安全等研究领域,邀请国内外著名院士、学者等知名专家到会做特邀报告,共同探讨数据隐私保护发展现状,以及所面临的关键性挑战问题和研究方向。为来自国内外高等院校、科研院所、企事业单位的专家、教授、学者、工程师提供一个隐私保护产学研界最高水平的信息沟通平台、创新成果展示与推广的渠道。

  报告题目:The Evolution of Data Privacy: From Concept toExecution 

  报告摘要:Data is everywhere. On onehand, Big Data Analytics and Big Data Technology hold the potential to enrichand transform our social and work life. On the other hand, Big data analytics compound with growing variety ofsocial medias also open doors for both intrusions of individual andorganizational privacy and risks of misuse and abuse of Big Data in the absenceof quality and usage governance. In this keynote, Iwill examine the evolution of data privacy and revisit some of the mostfrequently asked questions on fundamental privacy research, such as “Who is the biggest threat to privacy (government, social media,advertisers, data brokers, big data and analytics, ourselves...)? What are themost promising technological solutions for protecting privacy? “What are themost over-hyped? Is privacy really dead?”.I will identify a number of important privacy challenges in the critical phasesof big data computation life cycle and share some of my visions towardstransformative development of data privacy, from the concept of privacy to theprotection of privacy.  

  报告人简介:Ling Liu is a Professor in theSchool of Computer Science at Georgia Institute of Technology. Shedirects the research programs in Distributed Data Intensive Systems Lab (DiSL),examining various aspects of large scale data intensive systems, includingperformance, availability, security and privacy. Prof. Liu is an elected IEEEFellow, a recipient of IEEE Computer Society Technical Achievement Award in2012. She has published over 300 international journal and conference articlesand is a recipient of the best paper award from a dozen of top venues,including ICDCS 2003, WWW 2004, 2005 Pat Goldberg Memorial Best Paper Award,IEEE Cloud 2012, IEEE ICWS 2013, ACM/IEEE CCGrid 2015, IEEE Symposium ofBigData 2016. In addition to service as general chair and PC chairs of numerousIEEE and ACM conferences in data engineering, very large databases, distributedcomputing, cloud computing, big data fields, Prof. Liu has served on editorialboard of over a dozen international journals. Currently Prof. Liu is the editorin chief of IEEE Transactions on Service Computing. Prof. Liu’s currentresearch is primarily sponsored by NSF, IBM and Intel.
